March 2016 eNews

As many of you are aware, this past June it was advised that I take a leave of absence.

I would like to send my warmest thanks to everyone for their support, cards and kind wishes. It is greatly appreciated. As well, I would like to thank our wonderful staff for their tremendous effort and dedication during this difficult time.

I have been enjoying the much needed rest with my family and spoiling my granddaughter, Olivia.

Since December I have been able to drop by the office a few times a week. I am so pleased that it is business as usual. I have entrusted your dental care to Dr. Shawn Groyeski and Dr. Ashley Abraham. It is very gratifying that we have received such a positive response from everyone that have had the opportunity to meet them.

I am thrilled to announce that both Shawn and Ashley will be remaining with our practice even upon my return. I am blessed to have such an incredible team taking care of my dental home while I take this time to recover.

I miss everyone deeply and look forward to spending more time at the office later in the year. Wishing everyone a beautiful spring full of promise and renewal.

Do You Suffer From Dry Mouth?
Our saliva works hard to rid our mouths of food particles and to dilute the acids that cause tooth decay. A dry mouth, especially if habitual, can mean more than minor discomfort - it can have a direct impact on your oral health.

March is National Nutrition Month. The theme for 2016 is "Make Small Changes – One Meal at a Time". Proper nutrition is integral to overall health and vitality. The foods you choose affect your oral health from the moment you put them in your mouth. Visit www.dietitians.ca to learn more about National Nutrition Month and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

With this month's theme in mind, here is a delicious and nutritious pasta dish to get you started. While you may be tempted to substitute the "sprinkled parmesan" with a more traditional Alfredo sauce, consider this your first small change and small step towards a healthier you.
